Wymondham Photographic Society was formed in 1969. We meet in Wymondham but draw members from the surrounding area.
We are a friendly and social group dedicated to enjoying the art and practice of photography. Although we are not focused purely on competition, we do enjoy regular competitions, both internally and against other clubs locally and worldwide.
We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 8-10pm in the Wymondham Dell Bowls Club and our season runs from September to June. Our spacious venue has parking facilities and is equipped with a full bar which also serves tea and coffee. We have a large permanently installed projection screen which was chosen specifically to complement our club’s new high definition widescreen digital projector.
A list of meetings and the annual calendar is available on this site, and from Google Calendars. Meetings take many forms, competitions, tutorials, guest speakers, audio/visual presentations, location outings and workshops.
We welcome those of all photographic abilities, our aim is to enjoy photography and nurture and inspire each other to get the most from this pastime. Digital or Film? It doesn’t matter. The end result is a photograph, and you don’t need the latest fully featured digital SLR camera to join in. If you’re stuck with something you don’t understand, someone will be able to help, our members have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are always willing to offer help or advice.
New members are always welcome, and we encourage you to come along to a meeting to get a feel for our club. You can attend your first two meetings before joining.
The club has modest membership fees, which are collected on a yearly basis. They pay for our venue, necessary insurance fees, Federation membership, equipment and external competition entry fees. We are a non-profit organisation with all fees used to run the society.
We hope to see you at a meeting!
